Film Grids

Color prints made from some of my experimental films through a process-heavy technique, where the experience of a time-based piece is re-contextualized into a two-dimensional image. The images are created by outputting still frames from each respective film (indicated in the title) in order of appearance, and laying them out using a computer program prior to printing. For example, 'Approach' represents every 10th frame of video from the original DV video by the same name (note: digital video consists of 30 frames of video per second, or 30 discreet images that give the illusion of movement when played in realtime). Another example: if one were to take the film 'Duomo Frame by Frame', which was originally shot on Super 8 movie film, and hold it up as one long strip of film, the 'print' here represents the film as having been cut into strips of equal length and placed side by side.

Still Photography

An assortment of black and white, color, and digital images from a variety of series over the years. The 'Continuum' photos were created by taking a photo and mirroring it on itself both vertically and horizontally.
